Romantic Solar Eclipse

Today is the solar eclipse, and I took a vacation day to enjoy it with my husband. He loves astronomy, and I thought it would be great to experience this phenomenon with him. I bought the special glasses, we’ve picked our spot, and are ready to go. I’m very excited to spend the day with him.

We work opposing shifts, so we only see each other a couple days a week. He usually goes to bed shortly before my alarm goes off to wake me up for the day. He leaves for work about half an hour before I get home in the evening. So, time spent together is precious. Time spent together witnessing something as fabulous as an eclipse is a rare treat.

We have put a great deal of thought and planning into our adventure. While we often fly by the seats of our pants, something like an eclipse requires careful plotting. I ordered our glasses three weeks in advance, and I’m glad I did. They were back ordered and just arrived a few days ago. They were supposed to arrive in two days, but it was more like ten days.

We chose our viewing location carefully. We are going out to a secluded spot to witness the wonder by ourselves. We want to be away from other people so we can appreciate what we’re seeing without any distractions. It’s going to be quite romantic to feel like we’re the only two people in the world at that moment.

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday, and enjoy the eclipse if you are in a position where you can go outside and witness this amazing occurrence. Just don’t forget your special glasses. You sure don’t want to burn your retinas. If you aren’t where you can see the moon pass in front of the sun with your own eyes, I’m certain the internet will be filled with fabulous footage. Either way, this is going to an interesting day!
